Our Story
There will be a more thorough version eventually but suffice it to say that we WERE settled. We were happy in the suburbs, the school system and with our conveniences. But a trip to Italy in 2018 showed us a farm, how to make sheep’s milk cheese, and wow what a view. Needless to say, everything in Italy is beautiful, and although it was dreamy, I certainly did not consider living on a farm a reality. Until one day my charming husband came home and stated that he wanted to show me a piece of property. It was close to his parents, and it had a house. (I literally tried not to roll my eyes). So, trying to be helpful I just said sure. A couple days later we were on our way to see this property and let me tell you that my expectations were not high.
Within an hour we were out in the country, or boondocks, and I think my jaw dropped when we pulled down the drive. It was beautiful, and that was an understatement. Now we are out here full time, and figuring out how to be good stewards of the land, having a bit of fun and experimenting with what farming things we like, before we ramp up.
Our First Thanksgiving on the Farm! 2020
The kids have adjusted beautifully, since now we have wi-fi… and we love visitors. Please email us if you have any questions! We are hoping to have an open house day one day in 2023. Happy farming!
